Disarming the Bully... helping your child overcome bullying
Introducing an individualized intervention program for your child or teen who is experiencing bullying in school. When we think of bullying, we think of pushing, punching, verbal threats and stealing. But bullying can also take other forms like whispering or gossiping and spreading rumours. Bullies will use email, chat rooms, instant messages, social networking websites (cyber-bullying), and text messages to taunt others or hurt their feelings. Bullying can happen anywhere...at school, recess, lunchtime, on the bus, the street, at the mall, the pool, at summer camp or even on the computer or cell phone. The toll bullying takes can impact self esteem, and lead to anxiety, depression, and poor school performance.

Your child will be guided through a problem-solving process that addresses their individual situation. They will learn realistic coping strategies that make sense for the world they live in. They will also learn how to overcome the anxiety and helplessness associated with bullying.
